Today’s
Bradford (Park Avenue) are proud of their links with the former Football League
club, founded in 1907. In their
third book on the club, local authors Malcolm Hartley and Tim Clapham have
assembled a potpourri of stories, articles and pictures to celebrate the
centenary year. Contents include a
reproduction of the coming-of-age history published in 1928, articles on famous
players such as Len Shackleton, and reports on outstanding games over the years.
The exploits of the modern club, formed in 1988, are not overlooked.
There
are month-by-month highlights of events in the club’s history and a personal
reminiscence by Malcolm of his days at Park Avenue when working for the Bradford
Telegraph and Argus.
Among
the many illustrations are an outstanding collection of 32 team groups from all
decades of the club’s history.
