Keith Warsop, author of The Magpies (Sporting & Leisure Press, 1984) and Tony Brown, author of the Notts County Official History (Yore Publications, 1995) have joined forces to provide a new ‘definitive’ account of the Magpies history to the close of the 2006/07 season.

Keith has contributed an “A to Z” section, a 50-page encyclopaedia of facts and figures about the club.  More than 70 entries include subjects such as absentees, amateurs, colours, crises, families, foreign teams, grounds, managers, nicknames, penalties, secretaries, television, tours, trainers and transfers.

Tony has updated the statistical pages first published in the ‘Official History’.  There are results and line-ups grids for each season of the club’s history and a complete player list.  Statistics are complete to the end of the 2006/07 season.

Jay Smith became Notts’ 1000th player to appear in League matches towards the end of season 2006/07.  Notts have now scored more than 10,000 goals in all competitions and friendly games.

Other contents include a list of results from friendly games and the Magpies’ record against every other Football League club.  The book is well illustrated with team groups and player photographs.

The book is available from the club shop, specialist sports booksellers and by post from Tony Brown.  If ordering by post from Tony, please add £5 for UK postage and packing, £7 for the rest of Europe, £14 for the rest of the world, and make a cheque payable to Tony Brown.
