Biographies and career details of the 522 men that played for the club, from the temporary War League during the Second World War, the FA Cup competition of 1945-46, and the resumption of peace-time football in 1946-47.  This volume ends with season 1972-73.

In a similar volume published in 2012, the author provided details of players from the early years of the club, 1907 to 1939.  He has again delved deeper into career records than many authors of similar works, and has included school and junior clubs when known. The book is illustrated with many player photographs, some never published before.
